Cosmetic Acupuncture

The use of acupuncture in cosmetology, especially for the prevention and reduction of wrinkles, has attracted great attention in the United States, Japan, Sweden and Canada.  Many Hollywood stars and supermodels such as Hilary Swank, Madonna and Cher have publicly reported using Cosmetic Acupuncture.

Treatments are based on the principles of Oriental medicine - mainly Traditional Chinese Medicine.  It involves the insertion of sterilized, disposable, hair-thin needles into particular areas of the face and body to manipulate the movement of "Qi" or energy, according to individual needs.  The acupuncture insertion points on the face create more blood circulation thereby nourishing the skin, oxygenating and moisturizing it from the inside out.  With more circulation, the body produces more collagen, giving the skin more elasticity and tightness.

There is no risk involved, no side effects or downtime.

A course of 10 - 12 treatments within 6 weeks is recommended for maximum results.  A once a month follow-up will keep the skin looking its best and delay further facial aging.

Treatment Description

This rejuvenating treatment is two hours long and includes a full facial. It begins with cleansing and toning the face using an all natural, rosewater based product.  Needles are inserted into the body as with a regular acupuncture treatment.

Then needles are inserted into the face.  Sensitivity varies according to the individual but in general successive treatments become easily tolerated.

After 45 minutes the needles are removed and the facial continues.  A mask is applied and after it's removal the face is toned, moisturized and massaged.

Some improvement may be noted even with the first treatment.  There will be a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, improvement of acne or conditions such as eczema.  The face will have a healthy, youthful glow and the eyes will shine.  Facial color will be even and pores tightened.

Clients report feeling a tightening of the muscles and skin at treatment 6 or 7 as well as general euphoria.
