What to
expect on your first visit?
A confidential medical history is taken by the RMT and reviewed with you. This
medical history along with a postural assessment will be used by the RMT to form
a specific treatment plan. Injury assessment may take 15-20 minutes of your
initial visit. The treatment plan will be reviewed with you and the therapist
will honour any modification you request.
You will not be asked to undress beyond a
level with which you feel comfortable.
In addition to general Swedish Massage
Techniques, the therapist may employ hydrotherapy (hot/cold packs), stretches
and remedial exercise in your treatment. These methods and the reasons for
using them will be fully explained beforehand. You will have opportunity to ask
questions and may refuse treatment or put a stop to treatment already initiated
at any time.
